January of 2003, Doug Samm and Dawn Lindsey wrote a song together and found their musical styles and sensibilities complimented each other - calling their duo "D & D Project". With Doug's jazz chords, killer leads, & backing vocals, and Dawn's rich, moody rock voice, vocal range and writing; the combination creates a unique style that comes across to the listener as pure vibrant energy, emotion and passion! "The feeling person’s music". With D & D's album complete in the winter of 2005, and after some fun performances at Seattle’s Experience Music Project's Liquid Lounge under their belts, they went their separate ways, but kept in touch.
December of 2010, Dawn and Doug reconnected in the knowing they have something special, a unique energy in their music, decided to give their songs a fair shot at being heard. The goals...national & international air-play, live shows, touring, album sales, etc....
After discussing an appropriate band name, they decided on TerraNova (a new earth, a new beginning, a new life) and began the process of locating the right players who can accentuate the rich, moody, surreal and sometimes jazzy ethereal pop/rock flavor of TerraNova. Rico Ybarra is a consummate pro drummer, bright and very passionate! It's evident that he feels every hit in his soul. David Salwitz on bass exhibiting the utmost in integrity, desiring to make the music the absolute best it can be. His positive personality, talent and experience come through each note, making the music shine. The multi-talented Judith Card, what can't she do? Guitar, flute, vocals, with an energetic personality and stage presence! Tori Farrow, super powerful, yet sweet soprano vocals adds tons of soul to the TerraNova sound. Last but not least, the sultry Kim Snyder delivers a pure pitch and a pinch of spunk to her beautiful vocals.
